The numbers are in; 175 disadvantaged children enrolled at Bethesda Secondary School, Ikota.
The first day of resumption at the Bethesda Secondary School, Ikota on September 27th, 2021 was nostalgic. Children from Ikota community trooped in, boarding the Bethesda school bus to convey them from their community to our new location. On their faces, we saw a feeling of excitement and pride. This is a new chapter for these children and we are grateful to make it a dream come true.
Small Steps, Big Strides!
Four months ago, we began a fundraising drive that would help us continue to support the education of over 100 disadvantaged children who stood the risk of dropping out of secondary school. Today, 175 children have been enrolled in our new secondary school. We thank individuals and corporate organizations that helped us to actualize this goal.
What is more heartwarming are the donations of stationery – notebooks, pens, pencils, and math sets – received from 9ijakids and Shades of Love and Power Inc. for the students.
Full academic activities have now commenced at our school. The children have settled in their various classes and we can’t wait to share more stories with you in the coming days.
You can also help support towards the completion of our new secondary school labs and library or donate to support the administration of the school. No amount is too small. You can donate here.
